On Thursday, the 24th of March, Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, accepted vow of nineteen advocates admitted in the Latvian Board of Sworn Advocates.   

Number of sworn advocates has been extended by Ieva Garanca un Inese Sulte - ex-prosecutors of Riga court district, Andrejs Podrezs and Inese Kalnaja-Zelca – lawyers of bureaus of sworn advocate of S. Varpins and “Eversheds Bitans”, private lawyers Brigita Lipska, Evija Novicane and Inese Rozentale.

Inese Lazdovska, Marija Misina, heads of Parex bank departments and Rihards Mors, the leading lawyer of SEB bank, Anda Auzina, lawyer of  “Rigas mezi” LLC, Mikus Buls, junior lawyer of Mittal Investments UK, Klavs Ceze, partner in company Baltic Law Offices, Dainis Gulbis, lawyer in “DeinLand” Ltd., Justine Haka and Svetlana Tumanska, lawyers of „Deloitte Latvija”, Baiba Lietina, head lawyer of “RSK” JSC, Ilze Sulca, lawyer of “Sauce” Ltd. and Gundega Suruma, lecturer in  “Buts” Ltd.  

To become a sworn advocate, a person who has an appropriate education and work experience, passes the advocate’s exam. If the Board of Sworn Advocates hasn’t received information that there are obstacles stated in the Law on Advocacy for admission of the new candidate, it admits a candidate in the community of sworn advocates establishes place of practice of sworn advocates and informs the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court about persons admitted as sworn advocates. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court according to Paragraph 46 of the Law on Advocacy accepts the vow of new advocates.
