As from March 15, former judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases Anda Briede will start her work in the Department of Civil Cases of the Senate of the Supreme Court.

Decision about appointment of Anda Briede for the post of the senator was made on February 25 by the general meeting of senators of the Department of Civil Cases of the Senate, in which the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court also participated with vote rights.

Positive conclusion for promotion of the judge for the post of the senator of the Department of Civil Cases of the Senate was also given by Judicial Qualifications Committee, and the Department previously had also expressed positive attitude towards the candidature of Anda Briede.

Anda Briede has worked as the judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court since year 2005. Before that she was the judge in Riga regional court and in the court of Ziemelu district of Riga city.
