Ten advocates from the United States of America visited the Supreme Court on the 21st of May.
Group of American advocates exchanges experience during their visit, getting acquainted with Latvian and Lithuanian court system.
During meeting in the Supreme Court, Veronika Krumina, the Chairwoman of the Department of Administrative Cases of the Senate acquainted American advocates with Latvian court system and structure and functions of the Supreme Court. During conversation, foreign guests were interested in number of cases in the Supreme Court and the most interesting cases that were litigated recently. Advocates also looked at premises of Palace of Justice and the museum of the Supreme Court.
Getting acquainted with Latvian legal system, advocates will also visit the Constitutional Court, Prosecutor’s Office, Ombudsman’s Bureau, the Ministry of Justice, Riga regional court, the University of Latvia and legal bureau LAWIN during their visit on May 19-23.
The delegation visited Lithuania on May 11-19, getting acquainted with Lithuanian court system.
