6. jūnijs, 2025.
On 6 June, judges of the District Administrative Court and the Regional Administrative Court visited the Supreme Court to discuss current legal issues and case-law issues with senators of the Department of Administrative Cases. The aim of the meeting was to promote a common understanding of the application of legal norms and mechanisms for ensuring the right to a fair trial.
The questions sent in advance by the judges of the District Administrative Court and the Regional Administrative Court were discussed. The questions were related to the admissibility of the application in court, the determination of the subject-matter of the application, the addition of evidence to a case and other procedural issues.
The meeting took the form of a discussion, allowing to collectively identify the problems faced by judges in the handling of administrative cases, as well as to discuss the most appropriate solutions to these problems.
The judges found the meeting highly valuable.
Such cooperation with lower courts has already taken place several times and has become an annual tradition. The meeting is organised with an aim to unify case-law and to improve the quality of the administration of justice.
