The Board of Justice instructed Sandra Krumina, the judge of Riga regional court, as from the 15th of March to execute duties of a judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases for the period of vacancy of the judge.
Sandra Krumina was born in 1966. She got qualification of lawyer in the Public University of Latvia in 1997. She has worked in court system since 2000 – she has been judge of the Department of land books of Riga city, the judge of the court of Zemgales district of Riga city, but since 2009 she has been judge of Riga regional court. The judge received the 3rd qualification class in 2008.
Vacancy of judge in the Chamber of Civil Cases has existed since the 25th of January, when Maris Vigants, the judge of Administrative regional court terminated execution of duties of a judge of the Supreme Court for the period of vacancy. According to Part Two of the Article 79 of the law “On Judicial Power” the Board of Justice, having received the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and positive resolution of the Judicial Qualification Committee, may instruct the Honoured Judge of the Supreme Court or the judge of regional court to substitute judge of the Chamber for the time of vacancy or temporary absence for the term up to two years.
