The President of the state Valdis Zatlers invited the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ivars Bickovics to meet in Riga Palace today at 1.00 p.m.

The President planned to discuss with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court the voting of Saeima of April 15, when present Head of General Prosecutor’s Office Janis Maizitis was not elected for the post of General Prosecutor for the third time, and also get to know opinion of Ivars Bickovics about further development of events.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court announced that he will not appoint a new candidate for this post until May 11, when term of office of present General Prosecutor Janis Maizitis will end.
