As from today, 3 November, 3.novembra, the judge Raimonds Gravelsins discharges duties of the Chair of the Chamber of Civil Cases. The judge will discharge duties of the Chair of the Chamber until election of the new Chair of the Chamber of Civil Cases.  

On October 31, having reached maximum age to hold an office of the judge, judicial powers of Gunars Aigars, the previous Chair of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, expired.

In accordance with the law “On Judicial Power”, the Chair of a Chamber is elected by the Plenary Session of the Supreme Court.
