Coming to work in the morning of Day of Lacplesis, on the 11th of November, judges and employees of the Supreme Court could take ribbons in colours of the national flag.
To create festive and patriotic mood, judges and employees are invited to pin symbolic red-white-red sign to clothes during all week before national holidays until the Birthday of the State.
Invitation is supported responsively.
For the fourth year already the Ministry of Defence invites all inhabitants of Latvia on the to pin red-white-red ribbon to clothes on the Day of Lacplesis, thus paying homage to Latvian warriors who fought in battle crucial for the freedom of Latvia. This battle against Bermont’s forces took place on the 11th of November, 1919. However, this year the State Chancery invites employees of public institutions to wear ribbons in colours of the national flag until the 93rd anniversary of the Day of Proclamation of the State on the 18th of November and Day of Open Doors of public institutions on the 25th of November.
