On the 13th of November, Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, accepted vow of four bailiffs.

Kristine Priedniece and Dana Galzone will execute duties of sworn bailiffs in territory of Riga regional court, Lilija Solovjova will execute her post duties in territory of Latgale regional court and Juris Snepsts will work in territory of Zemgale regional court.

“Execution of court verdict is last stage of litigation. However, it doesn’t mean that it is insignificant one, sometimes execution of court verdict is even more important than passing a judgment”, Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, indicated, stressing that litigation will be ineffective absolutely for several years, if a judgment is not executed properly. The Chief Justice wished new bailiffs always to remember that their work creates social opinion about efficiency and fairness of court system.

According to Section 29 of the Law on Bailiffs, sworn bailiff is to be included in list of sworn bailiffs and s/he may start execute his/her duties only having insured professional operational risk and having given a vow to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
