This week, during the course of three days, the members of the Circle of European Trademark-Judges (CET-J) are meeting at the Supreme Court of Latvia.
CET-J brings together judges from 20 European countries specialising in trademark law. One or two representatives from each country, as well as a representative from the General Court of the European Union attend the meeting in Riga.
Participants aim to discuss topical issues in trademark law, including the latest case-law of the CJEU and that of national courts.
The CET-J meeting in Riga was opened today by Marianne Grabrucker, President of the Circle of European Trademark Judges and former President of the Federal Patent Court of Germany, and Aigars Strupišs, President of the Supreme Court of Latvia.
Since 2017, the Latvian representative in the Circle of European Trademark Judges has been Zane Pētersone, Senator of the Department of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court. She is also in charge of the CET-J event in Riga.
