On Wednesday, October 18, a meeting of legal research counsels of the Supreme Court was held to discuss current issues in the work of counsels.
Legal research counsels visited the Legal Bureau of the Saeima (parliament). Following a brief tour of the Saeima building, counsels participated in a conversation with representatives of the Legal Bureau in order to learn about the work of the Bureau and its role in the legislative procedure, about the Bureau’s cooperation practice with various institutions, as well as about the possibility of obtaining more information about the history of the legislative procedure.
The second part of the meeting took place at the Supreme Court. Counsels discussed cooperation with other institutions involved in the legislative procedure and the limits of such cooperation. This year's working visits and trainings were also discussed, raising the issue of future developments. Counsels also addressed several projects of the Supreme Court and their involvement in the implementation thereof.
The general meeting of legal research counsels of the Supreme Court aimed to discuss topical issues in the counsels’ work has already become a regular practice. This time the meeting was organized by the Department of Criminal Cases of the Senate.
