During two days, on 17-18 June, the digital assembly is held at the National Library of Latvia.   It is the most important event of the Latvian presidency in the Council of the European Union, in accordance with one of three priorities of the Latvian presidency – “Digital Europe”.  Rihards Gulbis, the legal adviser of the Department of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, reports at the assembly as an expert on copyright law in the working group “Digital single market for creative content.”

Digital environment is one of the most fast growing sectors with extensive opportunities in fields of economical development, social innovations and good governance. the Digital Assembly 2015 is the largest event in digital field of Europe and it has been organised jointly by the European Commission and Latvia.   

The Assembly is dedicated to discussions with representatives of public and a sector on future of the European digital policy. Discussions on mains points of the new Strategy on digital single market are held during the plenary sessions and working groups of the Assembly.
