Livija Slica, the judge of the Administrative regional court, will temporarily execute duties of the senator of the Department of Administrative Cases of the Senate, and Zane Petersone, the judge of Riga regional court, will execute duties of judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases as from the 1st of June.
Livija Slica was born in 1971. She got her lawyer’s qualification in the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia and degree of Professional Master – in Police Academy of Latvia. Since 1997 until 2004 L. Slica had worked in the post of the judge of Departments of land Books of Preili and Daugavpils, and since 2004 she has worked as the judge of the Administrative regional court. The judge has got the 2nd qualification class.
Zane Petersone was born in 1976. She got lawyer’s qualification and degree of Master of Social Sciences in field of law. In 2011 Z. Petersone obtained scientific degree of Doctor of Civil Law. In 2002 she started her work as a judge in the court of Kurzemes district of Riga city, and since 2009 she has been the judge of Riga regional court. The judge has got the 3rd qualification class.
The Article 79 of the law “On Judicial Power” states that the Board of Justice may instruct the judge of Administrative regional court to replace the senator of the Department of Administrative Cases of the Senate or to instruct the judge of regional court to replace the judge of the Chamber in case of vacancy or temporary absence, according to the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and positive conclusion of Judicial Qualification Committee received.
At present judges of regional courts work in five vacant posts of judges of the Supreme Court.
