The judge Ramona Nadezda Jansone finishes her work in the Chamber of Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court this week. R. N. Jansone has worked in this post for 34 years, 21 of them were spent in the Supreme Court.

R. N. Jansone graduated the Faculty of Law of State University of Latvia in 1973. She was elected for the post of the judge of national court of Lenin district of Riga city in 1976. Since the 20th of July 1989 she had been a member of the Judicial Panel of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of Latvian SSR, and then she moved to the Judicial Panel of Criminal Cases in 1990. When creating a new structure of the Supreme Court in 1995, she was approved for the post of the judge of the Chamber of Criminal Cases.

In 2009, Ramona Nadezda Jansone was awarded with the Mark of Distinction of the Judicial System of 3rd tier.

In its turn, the 3rd of January became the first work day in the Supreme Court for the judge Vilis Donans. According to decision of the Board of Justice, Vilis Donans will execute duties of the judge of the Chamber of Criminal Cases for the time of vacancy. V. Donans worked in Zemgales regional court before.
