The Courthouse Agency in cooperation with the Baltic-German University Liaison Office published a book on topical subject “The European Union Law. Part I. Institutional Law”.
The book is prepared by the body of authors under guidance of Christoph Schewe, the associated guest professor of the German Academic Exchange Network at the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia. Among authors, there is also Aleksandrs Potaicuks, the assistant to the judge of the Department of Administrative Cases of the Supreme Court, who was student of Master’s programme at the Faculty of Law at the time, when the book was prepared.
When pointing out significance of the book, publishers stress that it is the first time since the Treaty of Lisbon became effective in 2009, the reader is given an opportunity to master the European Law in Latvian language altogether in one book. It gives an opportunity to the reader to understand rather complicated, but extremely important field of the law of the European Union better.
Since influence of the law of the European Union to creation of law and public administration grows even bigger in the member states of the European Union, thus, also in Latvia, mastering of topics published in the book will help both to fulfil requirements stated by the European Union better, to educate civil servants in this field, and will provide extended information to every reader on issues of the law of the European Union.
