As usual, this year's final round of the Professor Pauls Mincs Criminal Law Moot Court Competition took place in the Senate’s courtroom at the Supreme Court. This is the twelfth time the competition was held, and this year a total of 12 teams from the University of Latvia, Riga Graduate School of Law, Daugavpils University, and the State Police College had registered to participate.

On Saturday, October 25, throughout the day, eight teams that had qualified for the preliminary rounds demonstrated their knowledge and skills in a court hearing simulation. In the morning, the preliminary rounds took place in two stages at the University of Latvia, in the afternoon the semi-finals took place at the Riga Regional Court, and the final round took place in the Senate’s courtroom at the Supreme Court. The teams "Dubultslazds" and "Likums un robeža" from the University of Latvia reached the finals. The participants' performance in the final round was evaluated by Aivars Uminskis, the chair of the Department of Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court; Oskars Kulmanis, a legal research counsel to the Supreme Court and lecturer at the University of Latvia; Gunārs Kūtris, a member of parliament and associate professor at the University of Latvia, Kristīne Strada-Rozenberga, the vice-rector for studies at the University of Latvia, Inese Gaidamoviča, a representative of the State Border Guard, and sworn attorneys Jeļena Kvjatkovska and Jānis Rozenbergs.

The Professor Pauls Mincs Criminal Law Moot Court Competition is organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia with the organizational support of the Supreme Court and the Riga Regional Court.
