THE JUDGE KRUMINA FROM THE REGIONAL COURT WILL CONTINUE TO DISCHARGE DUTIES OF A JUDGE OF THE SUPREME COURT
14 March, 2014
The Board of Justice instructed Sandra Krumina, the judge of Riga regional court, to discharge duties of a judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court during vacancy of a judge as from March 15.
Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court indicated in the sitting of the Board of Justice that, taking into account reorganisation of the Supreme Court, which has already been commenced, it is impossible to invite the judge to regular work to the Supreme Court, for the Chamber of Civil Cases will be liquidated on 31 December 2016. Thus, the Supreme Court uses an opportunity provided in the law “On Judicial Power” to instruct the judge of a regional court to substitute vacancy of a judge of the chamber for the term not exceeding two years.
Sandra Krumina has already discharged duties of the judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court as from 15 March 2012.
