The first meeting of the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court with the Minister of Justice and the Chair of Riga Regional Court

On June 18, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Aigars Strupiss, who took office two days before that date, met with the Minister of Justice Janis Bordans.
The meeting highlighted the directions and topical issues of further dialogue, including the training of judges, strengthening the capacity of the Judicial Council, the need for high-quality support staff for judges, as well as outstanding social security issues for judges, such as issues of remuneration and retirement pensions.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Aigars Strupiss was pleased with the successful beginning of the dialogue and emphasized the need to continue and develop this dialogue.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court met also with the Chair of Riga Regional Court Daiga Vilsone. In this conversation too, the directions of judicial cooperation, issues of specialization and qualification of judges were outlined.
