Head of the Division of Case-law and Research, Anita Zikmane

From 2013 she had been an assistant to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, later – an adviser on EU law issues. Previously, she had been a lawyer in the Court of Justice of the European Union and an assistant to a judge in the Court of First Instance of the Court of European Communities, and the Head of the Department of the Court of European Communities, and the Director of the Department of Civil Law at the Ministry of Justice.

Legal Research Counsel, Aleksandrs Potaicuks

Counsel since 2016. Previously, he had been working as judge’s assistant in the Department of Administrative Cases of the Supreme Court, and an expert in the Association of Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union on issues of implementation of the European Union Law in Latvia. His professional experience supplemented by in-service training in the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic in matters of the European Union Law and International Law and in the Law School at the University of Eastern Finland in matters of the European Union Law and Energy law.

Legal Research Counsel, Reinis Markvarts

He has been working in the Supreme Court since 2016. Prior to that, he had been working in the Ministry of Culture, in the Ministry of Education and Science, in the University of Latvia, as well as had been working on the periodical "Likums un Tiesības" ("Law and Rights"), and in the Regional Administrative Court. In 2013 he obtained degree of Doctor of Law in the University of Latvia. 

Consultant Kristine Laganovska

She has been working in the Division of Case-law and Research since beginning of 2017.

Consultant Evita Fridentale

She has been working in the Division of Case-law and Research since beginning of 2017. From 1996 to 2017 she worked in the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court.

Consultant Kaspars Kukmilks

He has been working in the Division of Case-law and Research since 2017.

Consultant on law application issues, Zinaida Indruna

She has been working in the Supreme Court since 1996. At the beginning she was Senator's Assistant, later – an assistant to the Division of Case-law. Since 2004 she has been participating in producing and annotating the yearbook of judgments of the Department of Civil Cases.

Language Consultant Liena Henke

She has been working in the Division of Case-law and Research since beginning of 2017. Previously she has worked as proofreader and editor for webpage of periodical “Latvijas Vēstnesis”, also as a proofreader for periodical “Latvijas Vēstnesis and as a proofreader and editor of Publishing House of Yearbook of “Latvijas Vēstnesis”.
