On May 25, the Supreme Court was visited by a delegation from Kazakhstan, which had arrived in Latvia within the framework of a training project implemented by Riga Graduate School of Law. The participants came from the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, the courts of first and second instance, as well as Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption of Kazakhstan.

In the opening of the international conference "The role of constitutional courts in the globalized world of the 21st century", the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Ivars Bickovics, emphasized the importance of judicial dialogue in the processes of globalization. "Mutual judicial assessment of conclusions and promotion of the protection of democratic values is the highest guarantor of the rule of law," said the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

On May 3 the Supreme Court received a valuable gift – Videmars Rumpeters, the grandson of senator Augusts Rumpeters, donated his grandfather's collection of legal literature - 143 books and collections of laws in Latvian, German and Russian.
