The Supreme Court is glad about increase of number of those students of higher education institutions, who made their choice to be lawyers and this autumn they make their first steps in their careers.

To extend understanding and interest of lawyers-to-be to the court system of Latvia and allow to look at one of the most interesting and at the same time, one of the most difficult occupations – the post of the judge, the Supreme Court organises Days of first-year students in the Supreme Court that will be held in October and November, 2010.

Groups of first-year students of the Faculties of law and programmes of law are invited to the Supreme Court.

The programme contains meeting with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ivars Bickovics, excursion in the Palace of Justice and visitation of court rooms, and also visitation of the museum of the Supreme Court.

The first Days of first-year students were held in the Supreme Court last autumn. The interest raised was great – approximately 400 students from the University of Latvia, Stradina University, Business High-School Turiba, Rezekne City High School, Daugavpils City University, Business College and Albert’s College visited the Supreme Court.
