Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, having assessed received proposals and his own considerations, decided to nominate Eriks Kalnmeiers as a candidate to the office of the Prosecutor General for coordination in the Council for the Judiciary.

Previous experience of Eriks Kalnmeiers, acquired by managing the prosecutor’s office since 12 July 2010, his professional skills, vision of problems in work of the prosecutor’s office  and solution thereof in relation to further development of all court system and activity in the Council for the Judiciary – these are fundamental arguments of the decision of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to repeatedly nominate Kalnmeiers for confirmation in the office of the Prosecutor General.  

The sitting of the Council for the Judiciary on providing of coordination will be held on Monday, 20 April. If the Council for the Judiciary supports proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, candidature of Eriks Kalnmeiers will be nominated for the confirmation in the Saeima (Parliament).
