Effective November 2: Intars Bisters, the judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases, with the decision of the Judicial Council is reassigned to the position of judge of the Department of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court.

According to the procedures on the reassignment of the judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases to position of judge of the Department of Civil Cases laid down in the transitional provisions of the Law "On Judicial Power", the Judicial Qualification Committee gave positive opinion on reassignment of Intars Bisters to this position.

Intars Bisters was appointed as judge of the Supreme Court in 2010. The judge carried out his obligations as the judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases, but since February 2015 he was commissioned to serve as judge of the Department of Civil Cases.

Intars Bisters has been working in the judicial system since 1999 when he was elected as judge of the Riga city Centre district court; from 2005 to 2007 he was judge of Riga Regional Court; from 2007 to 2010 – judge of Zemgale Regional Court.
