Since the beginning of 2016, the Court Administration has been working on the implementation of the European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) in Latvia. The implementation of the ECLI number is being carried out within the framework of the European Commission's national or international e-Justice project “Justice Programme 2014-2020”.

Today, on September 15, a conference will take place, in which the results of the project "ECLI implementation" will be presented. In addition, also an insight into the foreign experience of the Dutch project manager will be presented.

Anita Zikmane, Head of the Division of Case-law and Research, is invited to speak as a representative from the Supreme Court.

Anita Zikmane, referring to the increase in intensity of the further application of court case-law, will mark the benefits of the use of the ECLI number, which is simplified search tool for court rulings in national and international websites.

In addition, the problems already identified regarding the incorporation of the ECLI number will be discussed, as well as the challenges for maximum efficient use of available resources for publishing rulings on various websites of court rulings (case-law module TIS and DIS databases, JURE, JuriFast, etc.) will be addressed.
