On June 3-4, delegation of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic led by the Chief Justice Mr.Stefan Harabin (Štefan Harabin) will get acquainted with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Latvia and Latvian court system.

On Monday, Slovak delegation will visit the Supreme Court and meet Ivars Bickovics, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Chairs of Senate Departments and of Court Chambers, Heads of the Division of Case-law and Administration.

Guests will also visit the museum of the Supreme Court and will get acquainted with history of Latvian courts.

Delegation of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic will also visit Riga regional court, where it will meet Sandra Strence, the chair of regional court, and Inese Laura Zemite, the Chair of Judicial Panel of Criminal Cases.

The delegation of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic will also visit Prosecutor’s General Office and will meet Eriks Kalnmeiers, the Prosecutor General, and in the Constitutional Court, Aija Branta, the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court will meet the delegation.

In order to get acquainted with work of the first instance court in Latvia, the delegation of the Supreme Court of the Slovakia will go to the Bauska district court and will meet the Chair of this court, Iveta Andzane, who is the President of Latvian Judicial Association, and the judge Aigars Sniedzitis, the member of the Board of Justice.  

Representatives of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Latvia, by invitation of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, visited Slovakia last year and got acquainted with experience of work of the Supreme Court of Slovakia. Supreme Courts of the Republic of Latvia and of the Slovak Republic cooperate within framework of both Network of Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union and Association of the State Councils and Supreme Administrative Courts of the states of the European Union.
