Forty-four new advocates, accepted in the Council of Sworn Advocates, on December 22, promised to be honest, faithful and loyal to the State and Rule of Law. According to the Law on Advocacy, they gave a vow to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ivars Bickovics, while greeting the plentiful expansion of the community of advocates, reminded that advocates are part of judicial system, so their task is to strengthen the Rule of Law and judicial system. “You have all opportunities with your good work to form a good reputation of judicial system, to work, so that no one could tell jokes and laugh about Latvian lawyers”, the Chief Justice said. He wished to be clever, knowing, marketable advocates, respected by colleagues, judges, prosecutors, and who would always execute their mission to protect interests of people.

The deputy of the Chair of the Council of Sworn Advocates Guna Kaminska affirmed that new advocates came to give a vow with belief about ability to execute their mission, with hope to help people with their work and with love towards close people.

The most part of newly accepted advocates are former assistants of sworn advocates and lawyers of advocate and legal bureaus: Martins Aljens, Juris Balodis-Boluzs, Gints Baraks, Sandis Bertaitis, Martins Birks, Janis Bite, Maris Brizgo, Liene Cakare, Nauris Grigals, Janis Esenvalds, Oskars Jonans, Elina Kaminska, Dzintars Kauss, Gundega Karklina, Daumants Krasts, Guntis Lauskis, Sergejs Lukasins, Ilona Malnaca, Edgars Nikels, Andis Pauniņs, Vjaceslavs Platpirs, Ilva Pogule, Sergejs Rudans, Igors Sandlers, Zane Saulite, Diana Strauta, Timurs Siks, Normunds Slitke, Annija Svamberga, Kalvis Vanags, Skaidrite Velme-Gulbe, Andrejs Voroncovs, Linda Zausa. Sworn advocates became also Doctor of Law, the Chair of the Board of „Baltic Security/DAKA” Ltd. Mihails Cernousovs, the lawyer of the Department of Income of Municipalities of Riga Council Artis Davidnieks, the lecturer of the Business High School „Turiba” lektors Edgars Golts, the lawyer of the Board of Limbazi rural district Inese Kikute, the lawyer of „Baltikums Asset Management” JSC Lauris Matisans, the lawyer of „Neibergs&partneri” Martins Otomers, receivers Aleksejs Petrovs and Juris Raudzeps, the lawyer of the company „Juridiska alianse” Juris Purins, the head of Legal Department of „Audit Advice” Ltd. Jelena Rakova, the inspector of the Police Department of Daugavpils Inese Volkova.
